They also serve an occasional breakfast or dinner. Menus are published for the month and distributed at the Senior Center. Homemade bread and desserts baked daily are the highlight of the meal for many. A delicious salad bar is available in addition to the main course. The Senior Center makes accommodations to diabetic and other special dietary needs.
Have Van! Will Travel! The Eureka Senior Center provides local transportation to and from the center, shopping, banking and rides to the clinic on weekdays. The center offers a w/c accessible van for Homebound Meals We deliver homebound meals, within 5-mile radius of the center on a daily basis. The valley route, which accommodates all Diamond Valley residents that live on Eureka County maintained roads, is delivered Tuesday and Fridays. Homebound meals are available to individuals who are homebound due to medical conditions and temporarily to those with periodic illnesses for up to one month. HOUSEKEEPING Do you have household chores that you have difficulty doing? The Eureka Senior Center has a housekeeping program that will assist you in doing those chores. This program is offered on a sliding income scale to seniors needing assistance doing weekly chores as well as yearly heavy cleaning. You supply the cleaning materials and we will send you the assistance. FOOD ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE The Eureka County Food Pantry distributes TFAP for Emergency Food and Food Pantry on the last Wednesday of every month to income eligible individuals and families. Pick up time is 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. If you are unable to pick up your food during that time, please make arrangements for someone else to do so for you and send a note with them giving permission for them to do so. This is the only time it is available until the following month's distribution. RECREATIONAL AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES Jackpot Bingo: Every Tuesday after lunch Quilting: Every Saturday, Quilting lessons given when available Interested in a day of cards, movies and crafts? The center has a karaoke machine and a piano. How about an afternoon of music? A VCR is available in the main room and we have line dancing tapes. We also have a treadmill. If you are interested in any of these activities or have some ideas of your own, we will gladly make this activity available if possible. REFERRAL SERVICES AVAILABLE
